ATT makes third place in GEWINN young entrepreneurs competition
Today the renowned GEWINN Young Entrepreneurs Competition (GEWINN-Jungunternehmer-Wettbewerb) took place the 26th time already. There were around 1,000 applications, from which the 100 best received awards with a total value of EUR 50,000. The award is a very valuable reference for any young entrepreneur in Austria, especially if a company makes it into the Top 10 ranking.
A high-profile jury including Reinhard Mitterlehner (Austrian vice chancellor), Andrä Rupprechter (minister of environment), Helmut Bernkopf (Uni Credit Bank Austria Board member), Jan Trionow (CEO of mobile operator 3 – Hutchison Drei Austria), Martha Mühlburger (Montanuniversität Leoben), Elisabeth Zehetner (Austrian Chamber of Economy WKO), Georg Waldstein (founder of GEWINN journal) and further leading representatives of Austrian corporations, universities and politics selected the overall winners as well as the best applicants in five special categories (export, idea of the year, environment, IT/E-commerce, hightech).
Selection criteria were the quality of the business idea, the strategy, customer orientation, environmental safety and the technical realisation of the underlying concepts. In parallel, an assessment of prospective turnover and profit development was made and a final score derived. The award ceremony took place in the iconic octogon banquet hall of the historical Bank Austria headquarter building.
Although the company just finished its first year of operations, ATT convinced the jury with its performance and made the third place in the overall ranking. ATT board members Ch. Kussmann and P. Oberauer received congratulations from the jury and cheques from 2 sponsors with a total value of EUR 5,000.
